Regional Accountant

SUMMARY:
·        Responsible for all accounting for each assigned region
·        Responsible for month-end close and monthly reconciliation responsibilities
·        Works with all levels of management and must have strong verbal and written communication skills
·        Must accommodate to any organizations changes
·        Will be challenged to take ownership over responsibilities and to seek, propose, and drive process improvements across its areas of responsibilities
·        Must be an energetic person who can be innovative and flexible
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
- Participate in the month-end close process by preparing recurring and non-recurring journal entries, analyzing account trends and running related monthly reports for the properties in the assigned region
- Prepare monthly GL/sub-ledger reconciliations and prepare monthly analytics (flux analysis)
- Serve as the point person for all assigned property matters
- Prepare financial statements and monthly reporting requirements for assigned properties
- Review P&L accounts for misclassified items and adjust as required
- Prepare month-end accrual entries
- Utilize technology to prepare and produce management reports
- Work closely with various teams in the company (finance, treasury, accounts payable, etc.) to ensure compliance
- Communicate effectively with corporate operations and marina property personnel to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately and in a timely manner
- Assist with process improvement initiatives
- Assist with preparing and reviewing internal and external audit requests
- Support group deliverables for management and compliance reporting requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
 
 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
- Education - Bachelor&rsquos Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or CPA Candidate is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
- Experience working for a publicly traded company or for a CPA firm required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook), US GAAP, Reconciliation background, auditing skills, ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts
- Experience with automated accounting programs and systems
- Must have experience multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Knowledge of and experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine a plus
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to learn quickly, produce results and work within tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and be a result driven individual who is a team player
- Must possess intellectual curiosity status quo will not suffice
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Exercises good judgement, takes ownership of the entire process and be proactive
- Willingness to suggest process improvements and share ideas for best practices
- Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing financial data
