102506 Accounting Manager

International Accounting & Finance Manager
This position helps lead the international month-end close process, prepares and develops existing and new monthly reports, analyzes individual country financial data and performs analysis and research as needed for senior management. The principal business outcome of this position is to provide organizational leaders with accurate, timely financial data for decision-making.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
o Review accounting reserve calculations including shrink, obsolescence, and percent rent.
o Assist in applying metrics related to inventory, accounts payable, sales, etc. in a uniform method to all countries.
o Assist with monthly International close process.
o Respond to daily informational requests from country finance directors and senior management.
o Assist in the quarterly and annual reviews by auditors
o Create and prepare month end closing schedules such as Key Metric summary comparison by country.
o Respond to senior management questions during month and quarter end close.
o Conduct ad hoc financial analyses related to unit & country performance including New Unit Proforma and weekly Sales & Margin Analysis.
o Apply US GAAP accounting concepts in the international countries.
o Assist with the quarterly forecasting process by reviewing the submitted forecasts, interpreting trends, and identifying issues.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
o Bachelors degree in an accredited accounting program required
o At least three years of related accounting supervisory and/or management experience required - retail accounting experience preferred
o Eligible to pursue and sit for CPA Exam and/or MBA preferred
o Experience with foreign exchange or IFRS preferred o Experience with Essbase, Navision, Great Plains and/or Lawson preferred


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
o Proficient knowledge of office computer platforms and applications, including Excel and Outlook
o Proficient knowledge of technical accounting principals
o Ability to enter, retrieve, analyze, recognize discrepancies, organize, and report electronic financial data
o Ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner, working collaboratively and cooperatively with others.
o Bachelors degree in an accredited accounting program required
